Global leading tire company Hankook Tire is expanding its winter tire range in Canada with the release of the Winter i*cept evo3. The Winter i*cept evo3 is a multi-award-winning tire that has been praised for its excellent performance in snowy and wet road conditions, dynamic handling and short braking distances.
Now available in Canada, the Winter i*cept evo3 tire is designed for a variety of vehicles ranging from upper mid-size cars to sports cars and luxury sedans. The unidirectional tread featuring gull wing shapes, helps with the tire's overall traction and braking performance to deliver safety while driving in Canadian winters.

The tire features a high strength steel belt wire to increase the tread stiffness and keep stability when operating at high speeds. Customer safety is the number one priority for Hankook so when the tire was designed it was important that the tire effectively reduce the risk of hydroplaning, an issue that many Canadians' experience in the late winter and early spring months as snow turns to slush. The unique tread featuring a V-shaped pattern effectively helps to distribute water to the sides, while the water pipe kerf placed inside the shoulder block improves performance on wet surfaces by efficiently transporting water out of the main grooves. Compared to the Winter i*cept evo2, the lateral grooves are 20% wider increasing the water displacement capabilities.
In addition to the innovative tread design, the tire makeup includes high-grip silica, a natural compound, which contributes to a superb braking performance, particularly on wet or slush-covered roads. You can view the tire in action here on the Hankook Tire YouTube page.
Further demonstrating the quality and performance of the Winter i*cept evo3, the tire was recently announced as a test winner by Auto Bild Sportscars, the sports car branch of Europe’s largest automobile magazine Auto Bild.
