Case Study: #SearsFalliday
For a retailer there is no more important time of the year than the fall/holiday season. And PR, with its awesome power to garner third-party endorsements from key influencers in the mainstream and social media, can be key to cutting through the clutter and making good, actionable, sales-driving news with consumers.
That’s why our Strategic Objectives team was SO proud to partner with Sears Canada to bring early holiday joy to Toronto with a unique one-day event in July 2016.
The national retailer, with 159 corporate stores and 125 Hometown stores across Canada, is in the midst of massive progressive change that we wanted to showcase in an exciting and engaging way. To do so, we completely transformed a downtown Toronto event space into a super-cool, seven-room home featuring Sears’ fabulous fall and holiday fashions, furniture and home décor, entitled #SearsFalliday
To start, we walked the media through our gorgeous installation in intimate one-on-one sessions throughout the day, and welcomed 19 Top Tier media outlets including Canadian Living, Chatelaine, House & Home, Cottage Life and Style at Home magazines, to name-drop only a few…
We also hosted a chic housewarming cocktail for Toronto’s top social media and bloggers to wrap the day. More than 40 key influencers, plus Sears Canada execs, turned out to meet, greet and chat story ideas.
Our #SearsFalliday showcase went viral on Twitter and trended across Canada, generating more than 674,000 positive impressions.
Our stunning displays inspired gorgeous social pix and videos, including 71 posts on Instagram with 2,372 likes and 130 comments.
But, we didn’t stop there! Eighty-three guests used our #SearsFalliday Snapchat Filter, giving close to 7,000 viewers the chance to see Sears Canada’s stunning merchandise in real life, in real time.
Our Strategic Objectives team is honoured to bring good news home for the holidays to Sears Canada, and to live up to our motto #wemakenews. We would love to help you make big news across Canada too.
